I like the idea that the reviewers are helping us with the keywords and that they should organize and keyword the photos to show up when needed.
I’m not upset with what I am about to say…just trying to understand…especially to make sure that I do what I need to do to make sure the images are keyed correctly.
However, when I was searching some things….
“snow” and “snowing” came up with the same pictures…as expected,
“church” and “churches” came up with the same pictures …as expected
But….
“seagull” & “gull” came up with the same 25 pictures…but “sea gull” two words (both inside quotes and outside quotes) came up with only 3….This is the kind of thing I thought your program was going to solve….or was it the fault of the submitter not adding additional words?
In addition…. the word “expecting” came up with 12 pregnant women whereas the word “pregnant” came up with 70 pregnant women ….shouldn’t these have come up with the same number?
I think that this is the kind of problem that you are trying to fix with your program…right? or am I not understanding?
Or is this the fault of the submitter not giving appropriate words?
I’m just trying to understand.
Thanks for your help.

lindasj2,
Thanks for the feedback. The two issues you brought to our attention have been fixed.
This was simply a situation where we needed to make a few changes to our term datatbase.
We added “expecting” as a synonym to pregnant and also added “sea gull” as a synonym to “gull” (“seagull” was already there).
Our inspectors tag “ideas” to the images. It is up to the support staff (myself included) to make sure all synonyms are included with these ideas. This is a daunting task and one that will always be in a state of refinement (just as it is with other sites) – especially when you think of phrases and synonyms that are used all over the world. – A daunting task indeed.
Thanks again for your feedback.
